Direct Delivery (“Brown Box”): Food items that come directly from USDA W- Code items: Washington State (OSPI) has bulk USDA foods processed into end products Diversion: LEA or Co-op sends bulk USDA foods to be processed into end products DoD Fresh: Allows you to use your entitlement dollars to purchase fresh produce Pre-Order Survey: Your commitment to what items you will order for the next school year

Diverting for Processing
USDA Foods further processing allows LEAs to contract with commercial food processors to convert raw and/or bulk USDA Foods into ready-to-use end products Must have procurement in place PRIOR to diverting product Diversion requests due same date as Pre-order Survey

Diversions Requirement:
LEAs must utilize their previous school years diverted USDA Foods inventory by June 30 of the current school year Process: Ending balances not processed and delivered by June 30 of the school year is considered Excess Inventory. LEAs who anticipate Excess Inventory must submit a corrective action plan for approval to FDP by August 30. Excess Inventory not addressed in an approved corrective action plan will be transferred to the state account on August 30.
