The sooner you get fees in (which go towards paying for Prom Junior and Senior years) the less you spend.

The King Plow Arts Center in Atlanta on Saturday, April 22, from 7 p.m. until 11:00 p.m.

5. Georgia Graduation Requirements
Guidance Quick Facts:
CORE classes:
4 units of English (must include 1 unit of American Literature and 9th grade Literature)
4 units of mathematics
3 units of social science (must include World History, U.S. History and American Government/Economics)
4 units of science (must include Physical Science/Physics, Biology, Chemistry/Environmental/Earth and 1 other)
8 additional units that include: ½ unit of health, ½ unit of personal fitness, 3 Pathway Completion units, 4 elective units.

6. Unit requirements
How many do you need for promotion to each grade level? From 9th-10th 5 From 10th-11th 11 From 11th-12th 17 To graduate 23 (in all the right places)

7. Grades affect extra-curricular activities!
Students must pass at least five classes during the semester prior to participation in clubs and activities and be considered “on- track”
5 units after 9th grade
11 units after 10th grade
17 units after 11th grade

8. Foreign Language
Foreign Language is no longer a requirement for graduation; HOWEVER, all 4 year University System of Georgia schools require at least 2 units of the same modern language

9. Diploma types and seals
Georgia now has one diploma type only—no college prep or tech prep
Students can earn the Carroll County pathway completion seal through CTAE course completion, modern language, fine arts

10. Georgia Milestones Tests
End of course test given in the following subjects—(9th Lit, American Lit, Physical Science, Biology, Coordinate Algebra, Analytic Geometry, U.S. History, Economics)
Counts 20% of final grade for current juniors

11. Other junior testing
PSAT—Predictor and assistance for SAT ( sign into My College Quick Start to obtain help in utilizing scores fully)
ASVAB—Career inventory ( sign in with access code from score sheet to interpret and use scores most effectively)
Use the results from these tests to assist in college and career planning!

12. Things to remember as you approach senior year
Honor Status requires a 3.5 GPA—keep your grades up
To be a Carroll County Scholar, you will need a 3.5 in your CORE classes
HOPE GPA is based only on CORE classes—do your best in Math, English, Science, Social Studies and Foreign Language
Senior privileges are based on grades, attendance, and discipline—come to school, make good grades, follow school rules and stay out of trouble

13. Senior things for the spring
Senior jersey information for the Class of will go out in the spring to enable you to order by the end of this school year and have your jersey at the beginning of next year
Senior picture information will also go out in the spring to enable you to have senior pictures taken during the summer

17. HOPE Program in Georgia
HOPE Scholarship—3.0 in core classes* and completed GSFAPPS (available on GAFutures)
Zell Miller Scholarship—3.7 in core classes*, SAT (CR and M) or 26 ACT composite and completed GSFAPPS (available on GAFutures)
HOPE Grant—available to all students seeking technical certificate or diploma at TCSG schools: must complete GSFAPPS
*Core classes include all classes taken within the areas of English/Language Arts, Mathematics, Science, Social Studies, and Foreign Language. Class of 2018 need 4 classes that meet Georgia Rigor Requirements
