3 Introduction: Did you know that: Ignatius Sancho? Or do you know Dred
Do you know Olaudah Equiano? or Ignatius Sancho? Or do you know Dred Scott better? He did so many special things. But don’t worry, next, I will bring you to travel into 1799. Did you know that: Abraham Lincoln Spoke for Dred Scott?

4 Who is he? Born: 1799 in Southampton Virginia .
Died: 1858 in St Louis, Missouri. Property to the peter blow family. The Blow family soon settled in Huntsville doing Farming and he was soled to Dr. Emerson, the soldiers. Dred was actually Named Sam, but after his brother Dred died, he was named Dred.

5 Family and life: In 1832, Dred Scott met a
slave named Harriet Robinson, owned by Lawrence Taliaferro, an army officer from Virginia. He allowed them to marry and gave the female’s slave owner Ship to Dr. Emerson so they could be together, in 1838,they had Lizzie,t hen Dr. Emerson married Eliza Irene, then died ,And when Scotts family tried to purchase freedom, she refused. They actually should’ve had 2 more sons but died.

6 What he did: Having failed to purchase freedom 1846, he filed legal suit in St Louis circuit courthouse Through Help of a local lawyer.1847 in federal state courthouse in St Louis, the judgment was against Dred, but the judge called a retrial. 1850 Scott’s family was granted freedom.

8 Time line(2) In 28 years of legal precedent, Scotts have
sued for freedom, but Justice Hamilton R. gamble, who was later appointed governor of the state disagreed, so the Scotts were sent back to their owner.

9 After life… After freed Scott went to work as a
 porter in St. Louis. His freedom was short -lived. About 17 months later, he died from  tuberculosis in September 1858.Scott was survived by his wife and his two daughters.
