2 Peasmarsh place Peasmarsh place was owned by the Liddell family. Lewis Carroll wrote Alice in wonderland there because he based the stories in the gardens and about his niece called Alice.

3 Smugglers The Hawhurst gang was a criminal organisation that where involved in smuggling in southeast England. They did this from 1735 to They raided the customs house at pool to the Kent coast. There home village was Hawhurst , there main base was the Oak and Ivy Inn.

4 Peasmarsh plague The village used to be built he up by the church, and the people lived in wooden houses.
