1. The Art of Taking Tests:
As the State of Washington creates End of Course Assessments that could determine whether or not you graduate from high school, it has become imperative that I teach you mathematics and how to study for exams; and also make sure you’re prepared to take multiple choice exams.
In this presentation you will notice that we don’t even look at possible solutions until we have completed the problem. Every problem is treated like a free response question.

2. How to Take Multiple Choice Exams:
Do the easier problems first (do not spend too much time on one problem and come back to any problems you’re struggling with.)
Once the simpler problems are complete (make sure you get full credit on simple problems) attack the more challenging problems.
When you cannot complete a problem, look to eliminate possible solutions; increase the probability of selecting a correct response.
On the handful of problems you cannot do and are unable to eliminate solutions, always select “B”. This response has the greatest probability of being the correct answer.
Never leave a multiple choice question blank.

Sometimes the GCF of terms is a binomial. This GCF is called a common binomial factor. You factor out a common binomial factor the same way you factor out a monomial factor.
