Summary of discussion CPA members asked over 20 questions of the Board member in attendance, Robyn Erskine. Members also addressed each others’ concerns and questions. The main topics of discussion were: The total value of the termination payment to the former CEO, which was published in the Annual Report. The potential for legal action to recover this amount, and for further legal recourse against the former CEO and Board, were discussed. Confidentiality agreements with staff members who had left the organisation were raised. The previous brand marketing activity that was undertaken, the focus on sport, and changes to this strategy moving forward. The new marketing strategy for Public Practitioners was discussed. The overall level of support for Public Practitioners, and ensuring there are ways for them to connect in regional Australia Role of the Divisional Council, and how the council can meet the needs of members in regional areas, and the use of preferential voting for the Divisional Council elections The discussion also covered: Engagement with members, including the potential to better utilise digital solutions to engage with members in regional areas Life membership of Alex Malley and former Board members, and if this should be re-evaluated Annual General Meeting, and potential to use digital platforms to engage more members The poor culture within CPA Australia during 2017, and inability of management to speak up about the issues Proposed process to elect the Board, covering the connection between the Divisions and the Appointment Council Number of members with voting rights in each Division, and ensuring transparency of this information Actions of the Divisional Council in 2017, and the balance between public action and working behind the scenes to resolve the issues The potential for a forensic review of CPA Australia
