Criteria for Membership Honor is bestowed upon students who demonstrate outstanding traits in the areas of scholarship, service, leadership, and character. Once selected, members have the responsibility to continue to demonstrate these qualities. Any member failing to meet his/her obligations is subject to revocation of membership.

About the Portfolio: A panel of teachers will review your portfolio and decide on your admission into the National Honor Society. The portfolio is due on Friday, March 2nd , 2018, by 4:00 p.m. to Mrs. Redman in room * You may not a copy of your portfolio or verifications of activities. It must be turned in physically. YOUR PORTFOLIO MUST BE ON TIME. NO EXCEPTIONS WILL BE MADE. Invitations to students selected for membership will be mailed out the end of March . * If school is cancelled due to weather, portfolio is due next school day by 4pm

Completing the Portfolio
Please complete application in black or blue ink or you may type up your portfolio, but only if you use the exact same format. Please only include HIGH SCHOOL activities. We want to know your contributions since you entered high school, not before. DO NOT write the same activity in different sections of the application; any activity should be entered only once. DO NOT WORRY if you do not fill every blank; however, a signature is needed for each category that has activities listed.

Photograph We would prefer a photograph of you participating in some extracurricular activity; candid photos are also acceptable. However, we will accept a school photo if no other photo is available. PLEASE DO NOT give us photos where your face is not visible, nor of you in a group of people where the photo is so minute you are not recognizable. Please photo electronically to

Guidelines for Portfolio
Use a folder with clasps in the middle to hold your portfolio. Place an adhesive label on the front of your folder: write your legal name on it. You many add your nickname underneath it.

Guidelines for Portfolio
Hole punch your portfolio and assemble it in this order: Completed National Honor Society Selection form Signature sheet (see selection form) Essay- If selected as a member of National Honor Society, describe the contributions you would make to the club. Use at least two of your leadership positions and two of your service activities. Portfolios will not be returned. All portfolios are shredded thirty days (30) after the induction ceremony.
