2 Supervisor Exception Instructions
To fix or approve employee’s exceptions: From the My UW Employee Portal: Click on ‘Approve Time’-

3 Supervisor Exception Instructions
To review or fix Exceptions, navigate to Manager Self Service>Time Management>Report Time>Timesheet: Exceptions can include the following: Missing Punches More than 24 hours reported Punch Hours Greater Than 12 There are others, but these are the most popular.

Now you will see the below screen, you will “Get Employees” as you normally would when approving Payable Time.

5 Supervisor Exception Instructions:
Your list of your employees will be listed. Check to see if any have an ‘Exception’ on their time sheet by looking in the Exception column. If there is one it will look like see the below:

6 Supervisor Exceptions Instructions:
If your employee has an exception, please click on their name and it will take you to their timesheet. Here are some examples of exceptions: Missing Punch: If your employee has a missing punch, please contact them and find out when they came in or when they left so you can enter the time for them. Once the time is entered and the time sheet runs through the ‘Time Administration’ process, the Exception will go away.

7 Supervisor Exceptions Instructions:
Punch Hours Greater Than 12 or More than 24 hours reported: If your employee has either of those two exceptions, verify that the hours are correct. Sometimes the employee will put the wrong AM or PM down. If it needs to be fixed, please make the change and then submit the time sheet. Once the time is corrected and the time sheet goes through the ‘Time Administration’ process, the Exception will go away. If the hours are correct: click on the , then the below screen will show up at the bottom of time sheet, click on the ‘Allow’ box and then click on ‘Update Exception’. Once this is completed, the time sheet will need to process through the ‘Time Administration’ process before you will be able to approve these hours.
