Student Aid Report Students receives Student Aid Report (SAR) by or mail. Review SAR for errors Fix any errors immediately Errors create delays in processing at every school.

FAFSA & EFC Expected Family Contribution (EFC) – Calculated by information entered on the FAFSA from the Federal Methodology established by Congress. Used to determine eligibility for Need-Based Aid. Definition of Need Cost of Attendance (COA) minus EFC equals Financial Need Cost of Attendance – tuition & fees, books, on- & off-campus room/board, transportation, personal items.
