3 What is The Practical Training
A student works in an IT centre of a government or private sector on a technical task (not administrative) A student has to spend at least 8 weeks or 300 hours in an approved training location full-time A student is NOT allowed to register in any other summer course while she is doing her training A student conducts her practical training during the last year prior to her graduation A student is required to complete 90 credit hours to register for the practical training

4 What is The Practical Training
In addition the following courses should be taken by the student: IT :Database Principles (IT 222), Networks -1(IT 224), Web Applications (IT 311), Computer Programming-2- (CSC113), Data Structures (IT 212) and Software Engineering-1(IT 322) Attend workshops package that will be announced later in the blog ( 10 grades from final grade) A student can either : Identify the training location on her own (Your-List) Compete for the training locations provided by the IT department (KSU-List- few seats for each department in college ) Register for seminar

Obtain a good subset of the listed benefits and achieve the listed goals See Information Technology discipline in action Apply what you learned in a real work environment We expect you to learn professional work ethics Seriousness Dedication Being honest Producing high quality work Punctuality Meeting deadlines Enthusiasm … etc. 9

10 Position Allocation Requirements
The following are requirements from a company where training will be done : The department must work on information technology applications and/or systems, such as software/hardware design/development/testing. Training position brought by student (Your-List) A student cannot bring a training position from the same place as the ones offered by the training unit IT positions offered by the IT department depending on (KSU-List): GPA of student IELTS(5.5) or equivalent English qualifications (if exists) Training experiences on IT (if exists)

11 Criteria to select a company
The following are recommended requirements for a company to be selected as the training place Your supervisor has a background in computing You should be able to work in a multi-disciplinary team The company/institution should use current tools and techniques The company/institution should work on projects that have local or global impact 11 11

13 Paperwork Your-List Visit Training Unit to get contact information company/institution offered by college (important) From blog , get more information about training: Practical Training Program –(Arabic English )& Summary Training Specifications –(Arabic English ) Find a company according to the mentioned criteria and take its acceptance (orally ) From blog , print and fill Practical Training Plan and take Official Request Letter for company/institution from Training Unit /Committee Secretary and Sign Practical Training Regulation It is highly recommended to attached your CV , Transcript and other qualifications with forms submitted to company Bring back forms for evaluation and approval to Training Unit /Committee Secretary Check the accepted student at the blog ( site)

15 Paperwork KSU-List For announced places(few) ,apply to Training Unit with : Practical Training Request ,Transcript, TOEFL / IELTS exam results and CV in English and Sign the Practical Training Regulations . If your application is accepted and pass the interview – DONE Otherwise, the student has to reapply for YOUR-LIST

16 Schedule of Deadlines Your-List :
