Catalog Rights “’Catalog rights’ is a term used to define the specific set of requirements…as established in the catalog for a specific year, which the student must satisfy to qualify for a degree, certificate, etc.” “Students may choose to qualify for graduation under the requirements in effect either (1) at the time they began attending any California community college or CSU campus, or (2) at the time they entered the CSU campus from which they will graduate, or (3) at the time they graduate from the CSU. In order to maintain their ‘rights,’ students must remain in continuous attendance.” Reference:

PSYC 101/9 FAQs Current students that still need to take PSYC 101 can do one of the following to fulfill it: Determine if you already took a community college course that we will substitute (we will facilitate this) Take PSYC 9 at Sac State Transfer it from a community college (discuss options first) Submit a Course Substitution Form Must have been passed with a C- or above Colleges that have a equivalent course are: American River College – PSYC 330, De Anza Community College – PSYC 15/SOC 15, Foothill College – PSYC 7/SOC 7

Pre-requisites have changed …
…for many courses. We will work with the registrar and the department office to problem-solve this issue. Stay tuned and more information will be available before registration begins. We will need to partner with students to overcome any logistical challenges.

Upper Division GE Requirements FA 18
Beginning FA 18, students with new GE catalog rights will be required to complete their 9 units of upper division GE in Areas B – D For now, PSYC 134 and PSYC 151 will remain as GE Area E We anticipate that PSYC 135 and PSYC 137 will be changed to GE Area D beginning next Spring. Current students that still need to take upper division GE courses to fulfill your current catalog GE requirements can still take any of the four classes listed above.
