September 28, 2015 Agenda: Introduce “Altarpiece Masterpiece” Activity
Directions: After viewing altarpieces in class, create your version of an altarpiece to tell a narrative of the most important scenes in your favorite song, book, or movie. The challenge is to tell the story with just a few scenes. You may cut your altar piece into whatever shape you like. The exterior of the altarpiece will be grayscale and the interior in full color for impact. Be sure to put your name and topic on the bottom exterior of the altarpiece. You will not be graded or your skill level, but on effort. Present to the class for 5 bonus points.

September 30, 2015 Agenda: Review, Collect phones, Northern Renaissance Quiz, Reteach (if time allows) Directions: Use the sticky notes to write your name on and put it on your phone. I will come around to collect your phones for the quiz. You will get them back at the end of class. If you do not surrender your phone, and get caught with it, this results in a zero on the quiz.

October 1, 2015 Agenda: Bellwork, Northern Renaissance
Bellwork: Begin a new section of notes titled “Protestant Reformation”. Copy the following key terms and guiding questions to help you in taking notes: Key Terms and People: Protestant Reformation, indulgences, Martin Luther, theocracy, John Calvin, predestination, Henry VIII, annulled, Elizabeth I Guiding Questions: What was the state of Catholicism in the 1400s? How did Martin Luther challenge the Catholic Church? How did Protestantism spread to other areas? What were the effects of the Reformation in England?

October 2, 2015 Agenda: CNN News, Protestant Reformation Notes, Wrap Up Bellwork: CNN Student News: Write COMPLETE SENTENCES about at least three topics covered on the news today. A short class discussion will follow.
