Pope wouldn’t allow this Henry then broke with Rome and formed the Anglican Church England became a Protestant nation Ireland remained Catholic

Calvinism Founded by John Calvin in Geneva, Switzerland
Believed people were “predestined” to either heaven or hell All Christians had a “calling” to change the world for the better Influenced groups like Pilgrims and Puritans

Attempted to revive Catholic faith and counter Protestantism Roman Inquisition would root out heresy New orders like the Jesuits would spread Catholicism worldwide
