Agricultural Adjustment Administration Paid farmers not to produce certain crops Encouraged farmers to cut production in return for a subsidy Raised farming prices, helped farmers out of debt Prevent soil erosion

Target year olds (250,000) Jobs that include park restoration, tree planting, hiking trail construction Families needed relief

National Industrial Recovery Act Created NRA to enforce fair wages, fair competition, and permit collective bargaining (unionization) Encouraged cooperation among businesses in establishing production and labor practices

Federal Emergency Relief Administration Gave direct aid to the poor (food, clothing, etc) $500 million into state welfare programs

FDR’s sympathy with unions and laborers’ concerns grows! Wagner Act (1935) - workers can join unions and outlawed union-busting NLRB enforces this act REFORM! 40 hours per week 40¢ per hour 2. Fair Labor Standards Act (1938) - 1st minimum wage & maximum hour laws (aimed at helping non-unionized workers)
