EOC-end of course exams required for graduation
English I (reading and writing on a single test and given one score) English II (reading and writing on a single test and given one score) Algebra I Biology U.S. History

A student and parent shall specify in writing an endorsement the student intends to earn upon entering Grade 9.

Foreign Language (LOTE) credit – 2 years of the same language OR HB 5 allows computer programming to count as LOTE

What is the purpose of HB 5? How does this change the current NISD curriculum? How will my 8th grade child be guided in choosing an appropriate endorsement? What if my child wants to change his/her endorsement in high school? How will this impact my child’s college acceptance? Will my child still be able to participate in extra-curricular activities? If my child is going to college, why should he/she earn a certification in high school?
