TO COMPARE WE USE… To compare two people, places, things, or actions use: Comparative adjectives. My brother is older than me. Comparative adverbs (for actions). Driving is more difficult than riding a bike. less + adjective or adverb. I am less relaxed this year than I was last year. (not) as +adjective / adverb + as. The restaurant is not as good as it used to be. She doesn’t drive as fast as her brother.

Comparative adverbs: IRREGULAR ! Comparatives with pronouns After comparative + than or as…as we use an object pronoun (me, her, etc.) or a subject pronoun + auxiliary verb, e.g. My brother’s taller than me. My brother’s taller than I am. He’s not as intelligent as her. He’s not as intelligent as she is.

SUPERLATIVES Use the + superlative adjective to say which is the biggest, etc. in a group. It’s the dirtiest city in Europe. It’s the most popular holiday destination in the world. After superlatives we use in + names of places or singular words for groups of people, e.g. It’s the noisiest city in the world. We often use the + superlative adjective with the present perfect + ever. It’s the best film I’ve seen this year.
