Two main potential actors Statistical office Services under the umbrella of Ministry of Agriculture Different approaches in the countries Share of activities according to know-how and competencies Statistical office main actor along the whole process Ministry of Agriculture as unique actor in some “Old” member states when agriculture statistics within the Ministry

Focus on the interviewers
Importance of subject knowledge Best profiles? Plant Protection Services staff? (best profile but may be conflict of attribution between control and statistics) Advisory services? (extensionists well known) Statistical Office staff? (knowledge of interviewing but difficult subject which needs specific training)
