2 Schooling Physical Therapist Assistants only need an Associate’s Degree to begin work. They have to study the basic medical courses along with general courses. They also will probably get plenty of hands-on experience during internship. Physical Therapists have to obtain a Master’s Degree to practice. In the future, though, a doctoral degree program might be the required entry-level degree. Many programs require volunteer experience before admittance. The programs start with the basic science classes, and eventually make it to the advanced programs (biomechanics, neuroanatomy, manifestations of disease, etc.) Students also receive supervised clinical experience. In order to practice, graduates also have to pass national and state licensing programs.
