1 Chance the Rapper: Multicultural Presentation
By: Spirit Dorsey

2 Who is Chance the Rapper?
Chancelor Johnathan Bennett is an American Rapper, singer, philanthropist, record producer, and actor from the south side of Chicago, Illinois. He is mainly known for his rap career, but many people don’t know how much he does and attempts to do for not only his city, but for the world over all.

3 Childhood Chance was born on April 16, He had a comfortable, middle-class upbringing. He knew since he was a kid he wanted to be a rapper; he even had a little band with his brother and his friend. Chance had much support of people, telling him to follow him dreams and never give up. In his senior year at Jones College Prep High School, he was suspended for 10 days for marijuana possession and recorded his first solo mixtape called “ 10 day”.

4 An Up and Coming Artist Chance’s feature with artist, Childish Gambino for the track, “ They don’t like me” on his Royalty mixtape in 2012 opened up another door for him. Gambino invited him to open for him on his next tour. Spin Magazine claimed that “ Chance is a wide-eyed talent figuring out the world one deeply felt rap song at a time.” Eventually Chance the Rapper’s career took off and he is now one of the worlds most known artist.

5 Chance Starts to Make a Change
In 2014, Chance went the White House to meet up President Barack Obama to try create equal opportunities for young people. Even more people started to notice his hard work and he got “Outstanding Youth of the Year” by the Chicago Mayor. In March, 2017 chance met up with Governor Bruce Rauner to talk about the public school in chicago. He told reporters, “ Governor Rauner still won’t commit to giving chicago’s kids a chance.” So chance put up $1,000,000 of his own money, attempting to help these kids and get other people to contribute .

6 Hard Work = Success! “It feels a little early to get something like this, but my god doesn’t make mistakes.” - Chance said during his speech for BET’s Humanitarian Award. He states how he has always wanted to be more involved outside of just his community in chicago and how he has realized so much. He always says how he wants to be a better father to his daughter and that is another one of his goals The Grind Don’t Stop!!!!!

7 Reflection “We are so incredibly proud of you, Chance,” Obama said in a videotaped message calling him an, “outstanding role model and an inspiration to all of us who cave about our next generation.” In today’s society, all people honestly care about is how they are going to better themselves and get themselves to the next level, and that’s fine; but, that’s kind of being selfish. There’s very few people in the world who would actually use their gifts and blessings to help others. Therefore we need to acknowledge these people who try to make the world a better place as often as possible. In conclusion, Be like Chance!!
