Project Overview Business Objectives Technical Objectives
Alignment of Billing and Electronic Health Record (BEHR) toward meaningful use as defined by the HITECH Act. Increase functionality and workflow of BEHR in order to prepare for interfacing with the state laboratory division’s Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) and the New Mexico Statewide Immunization Information System (NMSIIS) as well as private laboratories. Increase revenue recovery by enhancing electronic claiming from BEHR. Train all public health office staff on new version of BEHR. Technical Objectives Create requirement and configuration documents. Implement upgraded EHR application in test environment. Develop test plan and scripts. Execute test scripts in test environment. Track and fix defects. Upgrade BEHR EHR application in production.
