5 What are the four figure grid references?

To find a six figure grid reference: Find the bottom left hand corner of the square, read the number for the downwards line e.g. 02 You need to imagine the square is broken up into ten little squares. Estimate the next number using the imaginary lines inside the square. e.g. 5 You need to do this again for the lines going across. Put the numbers together to get a six figure grid reference like this: 02 18
