3 High School vs. Middle School
How you treat others How you approach your education Your responsibilities & independence How you handle mistakes How you make decisions These 4 years go by fast… start thinking ahead now!

4 MID MARKING PERIOD REPORTS ARE HERE! Danger ahead?

5 No Summer School “Jumpstart” program, like at WAMS.
Academic Difficulty? Do something different !!!! Do your homework !!!! See your teacher: 1:1 Get organized ! No Summer School “Jumpstart” program, like at WAMS. When you realize you are having some difficulty in class try these steps: See your teacher 1 on 1 and discuss that you are having difficulty. The teacher knows the material. Teachers can explain concepts and how you test. Ask when would be a good time to stop to ask some questions about class, and set up a time to meet with the teacher. Take a calendar and put it up in your bedroom with academic information only. Put important dates on the calendar with the gel pen color that the class is coded with. Report due dates, tests, and major projects. See at a glance. It takes 21 days to create a habit…. Enforce positive habits. Use a planner……..

6 Failing to choose is a choice!
This guy probably didn’t plan on his life ending up like this... Problem is, he didn’t plan for anything… Come to school. Every day. No excuses.

7 Considering Cyber School?
Consider this: It’s not as easy as you think. It’s very difficult to get help. You’re more likely to fall behind. What do colleges, employers, and branches of the military think of it? Attendance laws still apply.

8 Decisions Now Affect you Later!
Develop good habits (personal, academic) You are what you repeatedly do, therefore excellence is not learned it is a habit! Aristotle 34 A.D. Positive habits of mind….. Good attendance, consistent effort and motivation, communication with teachers and adults, planning and organization skills It’s all about decisions…one good one at a time!
