Luke 14:1-11 1 One Sabbath, when Jesus went to eat in the house of a prominent Pharisee, he was being carefully watched. 2 There in front of him was a man suffering from dropsy.

Luke 14:1-11 3 Jesus asked the Pharisees and experts in the law, Is it lawful to heal on the Sabbath or not? 4 But they remained silent. So taking hold of the man, he healed him and sent him away.

Luke 14:1-11 5 Then he asked them, If one of you has a son or an ox that falls into a well on the Sabbath day, will you not immediately pull him out? 6 And they had nothing to say.

Luke 14:1-11 7 When he noticed how the guests picked the places of honor at the table, he told them this parable: 8 When someone invites you to a wedding feast, do not take the place of honor, for a person more distinguished than you may have been invited.

9 If so, the host who invited both of you will come and say to you, Give this man your seat. Then, humiliated, you will have to take the least important place. Luke 14:1-11

10 But when you are invited, take the lowest place, so that when your host comes, he will say to you, Friend, move up to a better place. Then you will be honored in the presence of all your fellow guests.

11 For everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, and he who humbles himself will be exalted. Luke 14:1-11

1. The best seat in the house is the last seat.

If you want to force yourself into the first seat, you will be humbled. If you willingly take the last seat you will be exalted. Thats heavens economy.

2. The best seat in the house is the least desired seat The attitude to watch out for is theIm too good for that outlook.

3. The best seat in the house is the learning seat Everyone needs to have their M.B.A. Mop Bucket Attitude

4. The best seat in the house is the Lords seat. Where do you think Jesus sat as He told this parable?

In our arrogance we need to get a glimpse of Jesus Do nothing from selfishness or empty conceit, but with humility of mind regard one another as more important than yourselves; do not merely look out for your own personal interests, but also for the interests of others.

Have this attitude in yourselves which was also in Christ Jesus, who, although He existed in the form of God, did not regard equality with God a thing to be grasped, but emptied Himself, taking the form of a bond-servant, and being made in the likeness of men. Being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross. (Philippians 2:3-8 )

The best seat in the house is the last seat, the humble seat, because then its God who moves you up.

The best seat is the SERVING SEAT!
