A study of the new heavens and the new earth
Will Heaven Be On Earth? A study of the new heavens and the new earth Isaiah 65:17; 66:22; 2 Peter 3:10; Revelation 21:1 Are the Bible references to a “new heavens and a new earth” to be taken literally, or is there symbolic meaning which the Lord expects His children to understand? A careful study of the passages in question clarifies their symbolic meaning.
2
The Distinction between Heaven and Earth
Heaven is the abode of God; earth is the abode of man (Matthew 5:34-35; 6:10, 19) The hope of the Christian is to be with God in heaven (Colossians 1:5; 1 Peter 1:4) Jesus went to prepare a place for us in His Father’s house (John 14:2-3)

The New Heavens & Earth (Isaiah 65:17; 66:22)
The significance of “new heaven and new earth” in Isaiah is different from Revelation (Revelation 21:1, 4) Paul applies this context in Isaiah to our present Messianic age (Romans 10:20-21) The highly symbolic usage in Isaiah prepares the Bible student to look for a symbolic meaning in later New Testament usage.

The New Heavens & Earth (2 Peter 3:10-13 & Revelation 21:1)
In the new heavens and earth, there is neither death nor sin According to 2 Peter 3:10, before the new heavens and earth come… The current heavens will pass away (Matthew 24:35) The elements will be dissolved The earth and its works will be burned up The “new” is not merely a “renewed” or “refurbished” heavens and earth!
