Gases
Earths

Wanted to organize 63 elements for chemistry students
Figured out organization while playing cards (solitaire)

Rows of increasing mass
Elements in same columns had same properties
Called periodic table

5. Mendeleev’s Periodic Table

6. Mendeleev’s Table
Could not make complete table b/c some elements not discovered yet
Later discoveries only supported his arrangement
