No Role in context of Future Leaders Program This role is part of the Future Leaders Program, which aims to attract and develop individuals external to BP with diverse experiences and leadership capability to bolster the Downstream distinctive capability leadership pipelines. The program consists of 2x24 months rotations within a distinctive capability area, and will include targeted leadership development and capability building. This role is the first of two rotations in the Commercial distinctive capability. Role Purpose The Business Investment & Analytics Analyst (BIAA) supports the Fuels North America (Fuels NA) businesses, providing support across all of the business groups including Refining, Sales & Marketing, Supply, and USPL. This role is accountable for leveraging the existing portfolio of project economics, coupled with actual financial results to generate MI and insights around current and future investment decisions. Team membership The Business Investment & Analytics Analyst is a member of the Business Investment & Coordination Team. The team has accountability for providing independent economic evaluation and analysis of all FNA investment opportunities, along with project approval facilitation, and structuring expertise. The team’s aspiration is to use big data tools to merge economic forecasting with proven financial data to deliver next-generation MI and analysis. Specific Role Description Develop and utilize analytic tools to merge economic models with actual results to create online metrics of prior investment performance, make recommendations on corrective actions, and apply learnings to other projects. Provide analysis and tracking of past and upcoming projects to extract MI around the health of the portfolio, develop comparisons within and across business entities, and create metrics and functionality to compare individual projects against the overall portfolio. Coordinate and lead the semi-monthly COO Investment Review meeting. Act as a Single Point of Accountability (SPA) for Use Cases to deploy Business Analytics resources to develop and implement data analysis and visualization tools across the organization. As needed, provide investment decision support for ATNs (Authority to Negotiate), FMs (Financial Memorandums) and support coordination of the business review process in a way which achieves quality, unbiased, and timely reviews of investment proposals. As such it will: provide the necessary support and guidance to Project and Business Commercial Development projects as they progress through the CVP process in accordance with GIAAP and EEM standards; act as a commercial consultant supporting new deals, lease renewals, marketing programs, etc.; Interface with functional teams (e.g. Accounting Policy, Tax, Treasury, Segment Head Office) as projects are progressed. Essential work experience: 5+ year works experience aligned to the <insert distinctive capability> Experience in economic modelling (discounted cash flow analysis or similar), evaluating business cases, and performing risk/sensitivity analysis.
