Math Analysis is really Pre-Calculus
What is it all about? Math Analysis is really Pre-Calculus Algebra II topics are reviewed in more depth Much emphasis is placed on advanced functions (polynomial, rational, exponential, and logarithmic) and their related graphs 11/22/2018 Math is awesome!
4
There is an extensive study of unit circle trigonometry
Systems and matrices are covered in more depth Conic sections and polar coordinates are studied Students are introduced to the concept of limits to prepare them for calculus 11/22/2018 Math is awesome!
5
Overall there will be an emphasis on Technology Real-life applications
Problem-solving and Communication 11/22/2018 Math is awesome!

Tests and Quizzes You may expect several very short unannounced quizzes during each chapter. You may use notes on these quizzes. Most units will also have longer mid-chapter quizzes in addition to a cumulative test at the end of the chapter. These tests and quizzes will always be announced at least two days in advance. Notes may or may not be allowed, depending on the nature of the material. 11/22/2018 Math is awesome!

Assignments Homework will be assigned and discussed daily in class.
Normally, answers alone are unacceptable and will not be given credit. Answers must be accompanied by the written work in a neat and orderly fashion! Homework will be collected and graded in a variety of ways. Late work will only receive half credit. No work will be accepted after corrected assignments have been returned! 11/22/2018 Math is awesome!

Grades Grades are weighted with tests and quizzes counting as 80% and assignments counting as 20% Grading scale is 90%= A, 80%= B, etc. Your two quarter grades will be averaged and represent a total of 85% of your grade, the semester exam will count as 15%. 11/22/2018 Math is awesome!

Classtime Be on time. Come prepared. Listen respectfully.
Do not bring any distractions to class. Use study time for math. Work together. Ask for help when needed. Utilize the entire class period. Persevere! 11/22/2018 Math is awesome!
17
Homework Complete every assignment to the best of your ability and come prepared with specific questions. Read directions Show your work Do not copy answers from the back of the book or other students Do not do problems on your calculator that are not intended to be done that way 11/22/2018 Math is awesome!
18
Academic Integrity Do your own homework. What does this mean?
Correct papers accurately (your own or those of others) and report scores honestly. NEVER give me any reason to doubt your integrity on a test. (Are notes allowed? Are calculators allowed? Can you ask for extra time to finish? What can you tell other students?) 11/22/2018 Math is awesome!
19
Any instance of academic dishonesty will result in a score of zero on the assignment, a report made to the office, and a phone call home. This could also have an impact on National Honor Society membership for those students who are members. DO NOT CHEAT YOURSELF OUT OF AN EDUCATION! 11/22/2018 Math is awesome!

My Commitment to YOU I will make efficient use of class time.
I will create carefully prepared lessons. I will do my best to create challenging but fair quizzes and tests. I will strive to help each student be successful. I will provide timely feedback. 11/22/2018 Math is awesome!

Finally… I am available for help outside of class. Do not let yourself get behind. My office is located in guidance. The course is rigorous, but students who have successfully completed it usually find themselves well-prepared for calculus and college level math courses. 11/22/2018 Math is awesome!
