2 CHIPS’ aim is to bring together the Iteso and Karimojong tribes in Uganda. The tribes are in constant conflict with their neighbours in Uganda, in recent years the nature and the outcome of the raids have become increasingly violent with the acquisition of AK47s guns. Currently, the CHIPS team is made up of Ugandans from both tribes who live together in the border area and work in community-development to help solve conflict between the two tribes. Are CHIPS peacemakers?

3 Sami Awad Sami Awad is the Executive Director of Holy Land Trust. His parents are both Palestinians; his father, Bishara Awad became a refugee at age nine after his father was killed in the 1948 war and the family was forced out of their home in what is now West Jerusalem. He works to develop nonviolent approaches that aim to build a future founded on the principles of nonviolence, equality, justice, and peaceful coexistence. Sami promotes and engages in nonviolence, and travels speaking in different countries, communities, political and religious organisations in places such as India, South Africa, numerous European countries, the US, etc. Is Sami Awad a peacemaker?

4 Samaritans is a charity aimed at providing emotional support to anyone in emotional distress, struggling to cope, or at risk of suicide throughout the United Kingdom and Ireland, often through their telephone helpline. The name comes from the Biblical parable of the Good Samaritan. They act to reduce emotional distress and reduce suicidal feelings so that fewer people die by suicide. Are Samaritans peacemakers?

5 Yoko Ono Since the 1960s, Yoko Ono has been an activist for peace and human rights. After her marriage to John, they held a "Bed-In for Peace" in their honeymoon suite at the Amsterdam Hilton Hotel in The press fought to get in, but they found the pair of newlyweds wearing pyjamas and eager to talk about and promote world peace. Another Bed-In in Canada, resulted in the recording of their first single, "Give Peace A Chance", a Top 20 hit. She is also known for her philanthropic contributions to arts, peace and AIDS outreach programs. Is Yoko Ono a peacemaker?

8 EAPPI seeks to provide up-to-date, reliable information on the occupation in Israel-Palestine. They 
campaign for a just and peaceful resolution to the Israeli/Palestinian conflict through an end to the occupation, respect for international law and implementation of UN resolutions. Are EAPPI peacemakers?

9 Our world is scarred by violence and conflict.
We believe that Christians have a responsibility to work for justice and peace. By being peacemakers and showing love to our neighbours, of whatever religion, belief, nationality or culture, and through mutual respect and the development just economic relationships, more people will enjoy peace and prosperity. ‘Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God’ Matthew 5:9
