1 Getting Ready for Cass High School

2 What Courses are needed to Graduate?
23 Total Credits 4 credits of English 4 credits of Math 4 credits of Science 4 credits of Social Studies 1 credit of Health and Personal Fitness 3 credits of Career, World Language, or Fine Arts 4 credits of Electives (at a minimum) Note: World Language is not required for graduation, but is required for acceptance into a 4-year college or university.

3 Freshman Year Does Count!
Every grade you make from the beginning of 9th grade to end of 12th grade counts towards your GPA (grade point average) This is very important if you want to go to college and earn the HOPE or Zell Miller Scholarship! (see next slide) Colleges WILL see your Freshman grades on your transcript!

4 HOPE Scholarship To qualify for the HOPE Scholarship you MUST maintain a 3.0 GPA and pass at least 4 of the following courses. AP English Language AP English Literature AP Psychology AP U. S. History AP World History AP Calculus AB AP Statistics AP Macroeconomics AP Biology AP Environmental Science Algebra II Pre-Calculus Advanced Mathematical Decision Making Spanish II, III, and IV Chemistry Human Anatomy Physics Forensics Science Note: Move on When Ready courses will count!

5 Dual Enrollment Joint Enrollment with a local college or technical school Students earn high school and college credits Student must still complete the state required classes for a high school diploma There are SAT/ACT/Accuplacer score requirements Students must be at least 16 year old Costs are covered by portions of the HOPE Scholarship

6 Bartow College and Career Academy
Students 10th -12th grade Technical training in the following fields: Public Safety Welding Medical HVAC Engineering/Robotics Automotive Marketing

7 DE/BCCA Dual Enrollment BCCA Take SAT/ACT/Accuplacer
Parent Meeting w/ Counselor Apply to the school of your choice Send your transcript and test scores Select classes with Counselor Meet with Counselor Decide which Pathway at CCA Discuss with Counselor at Registration

10 Graduation Day To Graduate you must meet these 2 guidelines
Pass ALL required classes Earn a minimum of 23 credits
