1 State of Louisiana Disaster Recovery Unit
CDBG-DR Infrastructure Programs Funding Community Centers

2 Community Centers: Small to Large
Positive Impacts: Providing incentive for the growth of a community Providing for social, economical and recreational needs for the area citizens Largest Challenge: Must have financial support in place for operations and maintenance

3 Long Term Community Recovery Program ($700m)
Funds are distributed among the parishes according to a formula based on estimated housing and infrastructure damages inflicted by hurricanes Katrina and Rita. Parishes developed Long Term Community Recovery plans which required public input and approval by local governing bodies and finally approved by the State. Priority projects were determined by the parishes based on their Long Term Community Recovery Plans.

4 Gustav/Ike Parish Recovery Program ($562.5m)
Over 50% of the funds were directed to the most impacted parishes based on their level of damage. In order to most effectively use program funds, eligible parishes must have had damages that warranted an allocation of at least $150,000. Parishes developed Parish Recovery plans which required public input and approval by local governing bodies and finally approved by the State. Priority projects were determined by the parishes based on their Recovery Plans.
