Sign up for Group Advising using the link that was ed to you on February 9th Update Graduation Requirements Form prior to Advising Review your academic progress on Degree Works for accuracy Watch the Junior Power Point presentation prior to Advising Please be prompt

Course Information: Please click on the CRN number for specific course prerequisites, co-requisites, and information SCED 475: You must register for the specific linked lecture (3 cr.) AND specific linked lab (0 cr.). Click on the CRN for the specific Lecture/Lab combination. Submit both CRN numbers at the same time to register

GPA Is Very Important! Please take your grades seriously!
There are two cumulative GPA checkpoints in the Elementary Education program: (1) Students need a 2.75 cumulative GPA for these classes: EDF 370, EDEL 350, and PSY 347 (2) A 3.0 cumulative GPA for your last two semesters which include your second Practicum and Student Teaching 3.0 cumulative GPA is a prerequisite for the following course: EDEL 454 Student Teaching Consider Grade Replacement if necessary

Grade Replacement is the Best Way to Raise Your GPA
The Grade Replacement Application form must be completed and submitted to the Registrar’s Office prior to the semester’s drop deadline. Grade Replacement Application form can be found on the Registrar’s website at: Contact Financial Aid regarding guidelines Grade Replacement may affect Financial Aid and may also affect COF Stipend.

CLD Track with ESL Endorsement
CLD Academic Track with endorsement requires: Documentation of foreign language background (minimum of one year of college- level foreign language) Contact: Student Teaching must be in an ESL-based school

Social Studies/Literacy Practicum Course Information
Social Studies/Literacy Practicum – Typically this is scheduled during the semester prior to Mathematics/Science Practicum. Weekly schedule: Two days per week (either MW, or TR) on campus taking methods courses: EDEL 425 – Social Studies Methods EDEL 445 – Intermediate Literacy Methods ET 340 – Integration of Technology EDFE 120 – Checkpoint and Request for Practicum Placement EDEL 457 – Social Studies/Literacy Practicum - two full days (either MW, or TR) in an elementary school with an elementary teacher (mentor)

Mathematics/Science Practicum Course Information
Mathematics/Science Practicum Typically this is scheduled during the semester prior to Student Teaching. Weekly schedule: Two days per week (either MW, or TR) on campus taking methods courses: EDEL 420 – Mathematics Methods SCED 475 – Science Methods (the lecture & lab are linked!) EDEL 339 – Data Assessment EDEL 459 – Mathematics/Science Practicum - two full days (either MW, or TR) in an elementary school with an elementary teacher (mentor)

Please Note: ALL courses must be completed prior to final student teaching: EDEL Students may not be taking ANY other coursework during this semester. Reminder: Cumulative GPA of 3.0 and passing ALL sections of the PRAXIS are required prior to EDEL 454.

EDFE 120 Registration: In the semester(s) prior to the Social Studies/Literacy Practicum and the Mathematics/Science Practicum Select the section of EDFE 120 that lists Dr. Charles Warren as the Instructor. You will receive further information from Dr. Warren. Complete the request for Placement Survey (resume, Cooperating Teacher Letter) Must have successfully completed EDEL 350 prior to the Social Studies/Literacy Practicum. You will register for EDFE 120 TWO semesters – once before the Social Studies/Literacy Practicum, and once before the Mathematics/Science Practicum.

PRAXIS Register for the PRAXIS Test
Licensure accepted in 43 states and Guam Select the correct test Approximate cost $180 Elementary Education: Multiple Subjects Must select Colorado as the state, to avoid registering for the wrong test Select a test location – several in Northern Colorado Computer-delivered test Study materials are available in the STE Office – McKee 216 – ask Dee about the process for checking out study materials

PRAXIS See PRAXIS on ELED website: education/current-students/praxis.aspx PRAXIS Brochures in ELED Office Take the PRAXIS one semester prior to EDFE 120 Practice/Review material available online at at bookstores, or in the ELED Library located in McKee 216 Print scores immediately: score availability will expire It is required to submit documentation that demonstrates that the PRAXIS test has been taken prior to EDFE 120 packet submission. It is further required that proof of successfully passing the PRAXIS is demonstrated prior to student teaching. You will not be able to student teach unless the PRAXIS has been passed. Scores are due February 10, 2018 for Fall 2018 Practicum!
