Warm- Up # 5 (2/8/2017) Sue bought 3 pairs of jeans for $ How much would she need to pay for 8 pairs of jeans? Morgan scored 42 points in 3 games. How many points would you expect him to make in an 11 game season? The test is out of 60 points. You have a 30% on the test. How many was correct?

Warm- Up # 6 (2/9/2017) Use the table to find the proportion
In an animal shelter, the ratio of dogs to cats is 5 to 3. There are 25 dogs. Write and solve a proportion to find the number of cats. The test is out of 70 points. You have a 40% on the test. How many was correct?

What Type of Slope is Shown?
Positive Slope Negative Slope Zero Slope No Slope/Undefined
13
Slope Slope: the rate of change between any two points on a line. It is a measure of the steepness of the line. Slope can be positive, negative, zero, or undefined. You can find slope using 2 points. The slope between any 2 points on a line is constant
14
Rise (y- axis) = Going up will be a positive value, going down will be a negative value
Run (x-axis) = Going right will be a positive value, going left will be a negative value m= rise run
15
rise = -4 m= rise run βπ βπ run = -5 m=4/5
16
1) Determine the slope of the line.
When given the graph, it is easier to apply βrise over runβ.
17
Determine the slope of the line.
Start with the lower point and count how much you rise and run to get to the other point! rise 3 = = run 6 6 3 Notice the slope is positive AND the line increases!
18
Slope of a Graph First pick two points on the line
The points need to be where the lines cross so they are integers 2. Then find the rise and run 3. Determine if the slope of the line is positive or negative Rise = 2 Run = 3

Slope of a Graph First pick two points on the line
The points need to be where the lines cross so they are integers 2. Then find the rise and run 3. Determine if the slope of the line is positive or negative Rise = 10 Run = 2
