Planning for the Haunted House Committee met 6 times over three months starting in August. Moved student workers from other parts of OIT to staff the Haunted House. Relatively small budget for project ($200) –Not counting staff/student worker time or –Give away items provided by vendor.

Marketing the Haunted House Direct email sent to students. Email to faculty encouraging students to participate. Ad placed in the student newspaper. Posters placed around campus. Signs placed around the commons.

Haunted House: Front Desk Handed out: –Student Technology Guides; –Safe Computing CDs; –Security Awareness Checklist @ ISU; –Technology @ Indiana State Spiffs; and –Halloween Candy. Sign-up for drawing of free i-Pod.

Outcomes 800 students visited the Haunted House over the four days it was open. Students leaving the event talk about the all the topic areas, especially the information concerning keeping your private information private on MySpace and Facebook sites. The Haunted House complemented the other marketing materials of Security Awareness Month.
