Classifications of disparity
North and South – loosely based on the advanced development of nations in Europe and North America, not defined by the equator! First/Second/Third World – determined by geopolitical situation First World – capitalist nations in Europe and North America, Second World – communist nations, Third World – all other nations * a disappearance of communism has made this obsolete.* Developed / Developing – refers to the level of industrialization
