2 Stem and Leaf Plots A way of organizing data values, usually tens digit is the “stem” and ones digit is the “leaf”, useful for spotting outliers.

3 Stem and Leaf Example Create a stem and leaf plot for the following data. 10, 26, 18, 9, 12 1I0 = 10

4 Outliers Individual data values that are atypical because they stand considerably apart from the general pattern of the data. Class Average Example: Class averages are 80, 87, 90, 75, 100, 13, 80. 13 would be the outlier in this set of data.
