Forces and safety features
By Kimberly Wilson
2
Forces and falling objects
Gravity is the force pulling downwards Resistance is a force working against gravity to slow down falling objects
3
A Parachute A large surface area and a parachute help to create resistance against gravity and slow a falling object down.
4
Car safety features and Shock absorbtion
Crumple zones and air bags act as shock absorbers taking most of the force in an accident instead of a human. Seat belts also help to prevent injury.
5
Other design factors Shape – which would fall faster? Why?
The helicopter has most of its weight towards the bottom. Why?
