Banksy and the Arms Fair

What Happened? On September 12 to 15, many of the world's largest arms companies came together in London, England to showcase their newest weapons and technology to world leaders Many people protested the fair because the world leaders include people who have abused human rights in the past Many famous artists, including Guerrilla Girls, Peter Kennard, Darren Cullen, Banksy and more contributed pieces protesting the fair to an art festival called the "Art the Arms Fair"

What They Did Banksy and other famous artists contributed art to The Art the Arms Fair, which was auctioned to support anti-arms fair organizations Banksy created an image of drones destroying a crudely drawn child's house while she and her dog look on Banksy then donated it to be auctioned for human rights organizations and raised around £205,000

How did it effect The World?
The arms fair went on despite the protests Awareness was brought to the matter but nothing was prevented A lot of money was raised for human's rights groups

What is being done today?
People continue to protest trading of arms Awareness is being raised toward the matter Celebrities are speaking up against human rights abusers Money is being raised toward organizations to preserve human rights like Human Rights Watch, Amnesty International and many others

How it relates to Animal Farm
Banksy is like Snowball in Animal Farm as he rebels against those in power but stays hidden, just as Snowball does
