1 How to get all of that data you entered back out again
1007 Reports and Tools

2 Reports The ZIMS reports use the data you have entered and give it
back to you in a printable and exportable manner. The Reports are found under Start > Reports.

3 Printing and Exporting Reports
All reports can be printed. Some can be exported to Excel or PDF. Others can be exported to Raw Excel so you can manipulate the data. And others can be exported to multiple formats.

4 Look at the Report Filters!
To get the correct information back you need to make sure you look at the report filters. Some of the reports display only your Local data, but others can have other scopes available up to the Global level. Any filters of particular interest are outlined.

5 Save Your Favourite Filters
For Reports that you run a lot you can create Favourite Filters so you do not have to re-enter the information. Simply enter the filters you want to include and select the Save icon. Name the filter and check any of the boxes that appear on the Save screen that you want. The filter will appear in the dropdown to select. Use the gear icon to manage the filters that you have created.

6 Activity Report The Activity Report provides animal data that was
either recorded (Recorded Date) or occurred (Event Date) or Both over a specified date Range. The Event Type is multiple select.

7 Daily Report The Daily Report provides activities recorded
by your team on animal and enclosure events. The ambient temperature is sourced from measurements recorded on your top level enclosure. If Enclosure or Enclosure List is checked the Enclosure Event Types are activated.

8 Enclosure Activity Report
This is a detailed report of events related to an enclosure, including occupant moves, environmental measurements (including related life support/component measurements), maintenance, notes and observations.

9 Enclosure Report This report shows the list of occupants in the
specified enclosure(s) during a date range. It can be filtered by Collection and Identifiers and Notes can be included.

10 Global Permit Report Information on those permits
marked as Global scope by the recording institution. If “Include permits set to Local Scope” is checked it will display the permit without the number. If “Include no permit Recorded” just the institution name will display.

11 Inventory Detail Report
The starting and ending count of a species during a date range. Includes both animals physically held or legally owned. Columns indicate ins and out of your institution. The Report can be filtered by IUCN and CITES status.

12 Inventory Summary Report
The starting and ending count of a species during a date range. Physically held and legally owned must be run separately. Columns indicate ins and out of your institution.

13 Loan Report This report displays either animals that are in on loan
at your facility or out on loan from you at another facility.

14 Note Retrieval Report This Report finds a specific keyword,
or word or text string in a Note or an observation. Can be searched by Animal, Enclosure or Life Support. Animals can be searched by taxonomy or a specified animal.

15 Peak Holding Report The highest number of species held during a specified date range. The report can be filtered by Domestics or Wild animals.

16 Specimen Report Report of a single Individual or group
record. Some optional sections will only be activated if the main topic is selected such as Training and Enrichment. You have several options for how Note and Observations are displayed.

17 Taxon Report Report on a specific taxon, often including any taxa below the specified one. There are many options to include in the display for this Report.

18 Transaction Report Acquisitions and Dispositions (including Births and
Deaths) over a specified date range. A specific institution can be selected. Selecting the Advanced filter allows you to select more specific types of transactions.

19 Wild Acquisition Report
A report of all animals accessioned as collected from wild over a date range, including collection event details such as Water Type and Collection Method. You can search for animals collected under a specific permit.

20 Tools Tools are found under Start > Tools. ZIMS Tools
help you more quickly record your data via templates and offer visualizations of the data recorded in ZIMS.

21 Pedigree Explorer Pedigree Explorer lets you view
the Descendants, Parents and Siblings of the selected animal. You can search by the GAN or the Local ID at an institution. This is a Global report so you can find animals that you never held or owned. This report is also available from the Actions button within the animal record.

22 Group Explorer Group Explorer is a visual display
of all the Acquisitions, Dispositions, Splits, Merges and Censuses of a group record. Additions to the group are displayed on the left and deletions are display in the right, with census counts up the middle. Each box is a hyperlink into that transaction record. Group Explorer is also available under the Actions button in the record.

23 Manage Test Panels Manage Test Panels allows you to add new medical test panels or edit and delete them. You can only edit or delete the local panels that you have entered (house icon), you cannot edit or delete Species360 test panels (globe icon)

24 Manage Templates Manage Templates allow you to add, edit and delete any of your templates except for Note Templates and Measurement Range Templates. To work with a template select the template type on the left and all your templates of that type will display on the right. Selecting the hyperlink allows you to use that template. To edit or delete use the icons on the right. To add a new template select the type and then the green “+” icon.

25 Manage Note Template Manage Note Templates allow you to add, edit and delete your Note Templates. The house icon indicates it is a shared or editable template. You cannot edit or delete a global template (globe icon). You can also manage your Note Templates from within the Note entry screen.

26 Taxonomic Inconsistency
Taxonomic Inconsistency lets you check for any possible inconsistencies in the taxonomy of the parents for an animal. This allows cleanup for any possible hybrids that have not been recorded as such.

27 Measurement Range Template
Measurement Range Templates allow you to record your desired range for multiple environmental or water quality measurements (left) and then assign these measurements to multiple enclosures (right). If you record a measurement for the assigned enclosures that is outside the desired range you will receive a warning and it will display in red in the record. You can also select to this warning to selected staff members.
