Anger Management Proverbs 16:32
The Christian is to rule his spirit – to be angry, but not sin. Anger will ruin your life and cause you to lose your soul if it is not controlled. The Scriptures reveal several methods of managing anger.
2
Divine Anger God expresses His righteous anger (Mark 3:1-5; Psalm 7:11; Joshua 7:1; Heb. 3:10) God is slow to anger, and His anger is often short-lived (Psalm 103:8; 30:5) God’s anger is always righteous
3
The Wrath of Man Human anger is seldom as purely motivated or righteously directed as God’s anger (Luke 15:28-30; 1 John 3:12; James 1:20) The wrath of man leads to folly (Proverbs 14:17, 29; 29:11) The wrath of man often results in sin (Proverbs 29:22; Ephesians 4:26-31)
4
How to Manage Anger When you are angry, admit it (Eph. 4:23)
Analyze the cause (Proverbs 19:11; 14:29) Determine to be slow to show anger (Proverbs 12:16; 15:18) Restrain your words (Proverbs 10:19; 29:11)
5
How to Manage Anger Deal with the source causes of anger
Jealousy (Proverbs 6:34) Angry words or deeds of others (Proverbs 15:1, 18; 30:33) Transgression or injustice against you or others (Proverbs 19:11; Psalm 37:7-8) Being around angry people (Proverbs 22:24-25) Being scoffed at (Proverbs 29:8) Frustration with yourself
