M.L. Luvisetto and the Bologna Computing and Network service presented by F. Pierella 22/11/2018
2
Activities Documentation;
Status of Bologna Quantum GRID dedicated machines and future (ALICE Bologna farm); Mirroring of the Catania Central Bookkeping; ROOT Apache Module for GRID Data Quality check; PROOF set-up (in progress). 22/11/2018

Documentation What’s the GRID ? 22/11/2018
4
Status of machines (Quantum Grid)
3 dual processor / 800 MHz / 512 Mb; OS: RedHat 6.1/2; Temporary storage on 73 Gb ALICE Disk; Aliroot: Torino tarball (CVS installation) / Apache / php3 / Globus and Condor/ MySQL client and server version. 22/11/2018

6
Future ALICE-Grid Farm
Disk server 1.2 Tb; At least 4 dual processor (CPU 1GHz/ memory 1Gb); OS: RH6.2 preinstalled; Total at least 7 dual processor from the integration of ALICE Bologna and Quantum Grid Machines 22/11/2018

Mirroring (1) Description: Cronjob (each 2h from 0:00);
Remote dump of mysql tables from master Catania database; ftp download from Catania of all log/err/Config files; The documentation for the mirroring is available at or in Catania at ftp://alipc1.ct.infn.it/pub/grid/test/mirroring.ps 22/11/2018

Mirroring (2) 22/11/2018
9
ROOT Apache Module in Bologna
It was an old idea (without implementation): use the Carrot package to browse remote small size files produced by the quality check on the GRID data; Documentation for Carrot installation and setup in Bologna is available at 22/11/2018

Browsing remote root files for Quality check on Bologna GRID produced data (Implementation for TOF of the previous idea) 22/11/2018
11
PROOF set-up (in progress)
PROOF has been (not yet successfully) set up on 2 TOF-Offline dedicated machines (1 node and 2 slaves) Some problems concerning the authentication in the slave; It may be necessary to install the SRP package. 22/11/2018
12
Memorandum TOF Requests for the next testbed:
Run GRID simulation using the double stack version of the TOF strip (may be an AliTOFv5.h/.cxx added to the distribution used for the testbed); Submitter selection of the Config.C and coordination among production managers; TPC code performing the storage of the GEANT momentum of the track in the last TPC pad row. 22/11/2018
