Each day, we traveled around the world to different countries: Africa, England, Holland, Israel, Russia and France. At each stop we learned about the culture and traditions, wrote about it, colored a picture, made a craft, and had a snack. We ended the week with a presentation from a special visitor. He taught us all about how some people celebrate Hanukkah! We got to see a real Menorah! Holiday Party The next big celebration in Kindergarten is our Holiday Party. The party will be on Wednesday, December 20th at 10:00. As always, parents are welcome, but not obligated to attend our celebration. Our homeroom mom will be contacting families to donate items or time as needed. There is NO gift exchange in Kindergarten! Review all the letters and corresponding sounds. The holiday break is a good time to catch up. We're almost done with the whole alphabet! Practice tying shoes. After January if your child cannot tie their shoes they will need to find a tying shoe expert in the class to help them. Try adding and subtracting within 5 using toys, books, or cotton balls... COUNT – our goal at this point is to count to 50, but, 100 is just around the corner. Count by 5s and 10s. Skipping can be a fun way to let out energy indoors. READ! Read a book for fun, read at bedtime, read a book on your level, read a book from the library, read a new book, read an old book, read to a sister or brother, have someone read to you… Just Read!  Trace, cut, practice: Rainbow Words December Assessment Please see the attached paper for December’s Assessment. to out
