2. Project Background
The Medical Cannabis application was initiated to electronically track participants and growers. Over the last two years participation has gone from 22,033 (1/2016) to 44,079 (10/2017)
Patient applications must be process within 30 days as mandated by the New Mexico legislative .
Patient applications for Medical Cannabis usage currently can only be submitted on paper for manual entry into the web- based system.
The current system has an outward facing patient portal that allows potential patients to apply on-line. The portal functionality was not installed during the initial implementation of the product.

3. Planned Solution Enhance the web-based hosted system to allow:
Implement the patient portal
Ability to upload documents using different file types such as Adobe and Word
Adjust the user application to contain only those items an applicant needs to see when applying for a card
Add additional features such as
the ability for an applicant to log into the portal
check the status of their application
Track monthly usage allowance (purchases reduce the monthly allotment and show what is remaining – live transactions – and reset monthly)
