What are infinitives? They are formed by taking “to” plus a verb
To go, to run, to fly, to swim Infinitives are verbals that can be adjectives, adverbs, or nouns! Beware of to plus a noun or pronoun… That would be a preposition Let’s deal with infinitives as nouns…

What are the functions of a noun?
SUBJECT DIRECT OBJECT INDIRECT OBJECT (not too often) OBJECT OF THE PREPOSITION (hardly ever) PREDICATE NOMINATIVE THAT’S PREDICATE NOMINATIVE
