The Law 1925 State of Tennessee Passes the Butler Act ACLU Offers to Defend anyone Arrested for Violating the law Law was for any public institution including Universities It shall be unlawful for any public-school teacher to teach any theory that denies the story of the divine creation of man as taught in the Bible, and to teach instead, that man has descended from a lower order of animals.
