2 5 Themes of Geography 1. Location- tells where a place actually is
Example: the country of Israel is on the southeast of the Mediterranean sea

3 2. Region- countries that have features/characteristics in common
Features/Characteristics that can make up a region: climate, landforms, vegetation, animal life…etc. Example of a region: Egypt and Libya. They share a common climate of desert

4 3. Place- an area’s distinguishing characteristics

5 4. Movement- study of the migrations of people and animals.
Migrate(migrations)- moving from one place to another Immigrate( immigrations)- move to a new country with the formality of using an embassy.

Push Factor- things/reasons that make you leave a country Example: War Pull Factor- things/reasons that draw you to a new country Example: lots of good jobs

7 5. Human Environment Interaction: how people change and deal with their environment
Example: needing to cross a river, so building a bridge
