Implementation Checklist : Essential Function #2 District leaders demonstrate commitment to school improvement through MMD participation in coaching, training, and data-driven action to improve instructional practice. DLT identify a process for monitoring progress of the MMD practices/components across the 3 years of MMD participation, including annual goals and outcomes, as well as expectations for educator participation in the virtual learning platform in each of the MMD practice areas. Administer Self-Assessment Practice Profile at least twice each year for practices aligning to PD plan. Administer MMD implementation survey (e.g. Collaborative Work Implementation Survey) at least annually. Use technology to increase the quality and timeliness of coaching for improved instruction. Participate in regional, cadre, and state MMD events to gather insights and wisdom from other districts. To Know: This is year 2 of 3 year project. Participants will be referred to Step-by Step Guide page 9 for reflection. To Say: This function relates to district commitment to the Missouri Model Project. Several essential tools are provided to help districts gain the insight needed to guide the district during this journey. implementation must be observed and monitored in order to see change of practice. I do want to talk about how observing and monotring for progress and a shift in practice is also part of the MMD. Just like surgeons had to do when the death rate was too high. First we talked about how the DLT must provide crystal clear direction to all participants in their district. They must tell the future story and focus on scripting the critical moves and pointing to the destination. We then talked about having the right ingredients to make the recipe for the MMD framework. Now, we must monitor, analyze and share about implementation. This session is focused on a step by step guide and using an implementation checklist. By using a checklist we ensure that all data can showcase strengths and opportunities and the necessary professional development and coaching is delivered to support the system. How we monitor that professional development and coaching of practices is through walk-throughs, observation of implementation, and monitoring fidelity. What better way to do that than through checklists? Step by Step: Page 20

Critical action steps need to be monitored for fidelity. There needs to be a schedule that allows for this to happen. The schedule for monitoring of implementation take the form of the practice profiles, walkthrough tools, and even coaching.

Case Study Process 1. Three times a year, each data team meets with the Instructional Coach and CST members. 2. Using the MMD Data Analysis sheet, each team reviews the results of the CWIS and SAPP. Each team lists side-by-side the observed strengths and opportunities identified in the data. 3. Using the same MMD Data Analysis sheet, each team reviews recent CFA data. Teams list out observed strengths and opportunities side-by-side with the CWIS and SAPP data.

Instructional Action Steps
Ensure consistency and common understanding in the academic language used in rubrics with lessons and materials. By including an advanced organizer for drawing conclusions as part of the success criteria identified in the scoring guide, students will be supported through the process to identify supporting details throughout the text reading. Rubrics will be reviewed with students to determine where student is at, where they need to go, and how they are going to get there.
