2 Born: February 4, 1914 in Tuskegee, Alabama James and Leona Edwards : Parents Educated early on at a Rural school After the age of eleven was enrolled in Montgomery Industrial School for Girls called Miss White School for Girls

3 She then went on to Alabama State Teachers College High School, however she didnt receive her diploma until 1932 and Married the same year on December 18 to Raymond Parks

4 Activist in the effort to free the Scottsboro Boys in the 1930 (dedication) First female Secretary for the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People also known as NAACP Youth Leader

5 Worked in the Voter League preparing blacks to register to vote

6 Parks was well respected by everyone in her community, her arrest sparked what is known today as the Montgomery Bus Boycott Boycott lasted for 381 days Dr. Martin Luther King was the spokesperson

7 Voted by Time Magazine as one of the 100 most Influential people of the 20th century. A Museum and Library has been built in her honor September 26, 1998 Mrs. Parks was the recipient of the first International Freedom Conductor's Award by the National Underground Railroad Freedom Center in Cincinnati, Ohio. February 4, 1999, Mrs. Rosa Parks was awarded the Congressional Gold Medal of Honor if it passed the House of Representatives and the Senate by a majority She received the NAACP Image Award for Best Supporting Actress in the Television series, TOUCHED BY AN ANGEL, "Black like Monica

10 She Past away on October 25, 2005 at the age of 92 But ……
