1 Mini Series Program: Snack N’ Learn and Move N’ Learn Program implemented by Bobby Moody and Natasha Natraj

2 Educate, Engage, and Empower members
Rationale For the month of March, we implemented a mini education program at both EmblemHealth sites to engage, educate and empower members of the fitness center and weight management program.

3 What did you do? Mini-series educational presentations
Fifteen-minute presentations over 3 hours at both Emblem Health sites The Snack N Learn focus was reading nutrition labels and healthy snacking The Move N’ Learn taught about sitting disease and demonstrating a desk workout The program was designed to be fifteen minutes in length, allowing for more sessions over the course of 3 hours with one session a week alternating between topics.

7 Goals and Objectives Engage employees and weight management program participants Share knowledge as a way to gain more membership to the fitness center. Each mini series had its own specific goals: Learning, participation, behavioral change Move N’ Learn: At least 1 new person joins the gym post mini series At least 20 people participate At least 1/3 believe sitting disease to be a primary health concern post mini series Snack N Learn: atleast 20 people, 1/3 list a behavior change and half learn two things

8 Survey Responses 60 total participants (exceeding goal)
Learning objectives exceeded Overall satisfaction with programs Upon survey evaluation of the 60 participants, they reported satisfaction with the overall program and validated the worth of EmblemHealth’s Fitness Center. The survey also showed that 10 out of 10 participants recognized sitting disease as a primary health concern after the presentation, and eighty percent of the participants were able to list two new things they learned about nutrition.

10 The Legacy Proved to be valuable to Fitness Center staff and Company
Planned to be re implemented in the future. Plans to reach out to upstate New York locations through Centrix or future fitness center Youtube channel to widen audience of EmblemHealth employees The Move N’ Learn and Snack N’ Learn series is planned to continue in the future by the fitness center employees with the support of the Wellness director and the possibility to even extend the series on a digital platform for off-site employee participation.
