2 Cloning is the production of multiple, identical offspring
Cloning is the production of multiple, identical offspring. A clone is an animal who is genetically identical to its donor "parent". 2018/11/22

3 Cloning requires specialized microsurgery tools and involves five basic steps:
~Enucleation of the recipient egg ~Transfer of the donor cell into the recipient egg ~Fusion of the donor cell to the recipient egg ~Culturing the resulting cloned embryo in the incubator ~Transferring the developing embryo into the reproductive tract of a surrogate mother 2018/11/22

5 DOLLY-the first successfully cloned mammal In 1997, cloning was revolutionized when Ian Wilmut and his colleagues at the Roslin Institute in Edinburgh, Scotland, successfully cloned a sheep named Dolly. Dolly was the first cloned mammal. 2018/11/22

7 Benefits of clonging Cloning could reduce the number of unwanted animals. An owner might feel happier having their pet neutered if they knew he or she could be cloned. Only one clone would be produced instead of a whole litter 2018/11/22

8 Can produce livestocks with ideal characteristics
It might be easier to predict the temperament of a puppy when it grows up. Owners would be less likely to discard their playful puppy when it turns into a destructive dog. Cloning has been put forward as a possible solution - and one which could even be used to bring back extinct animals.Endangered species Various arguments have been put forward in favour of using cloning to preserve endangered species:  Many rare animals, for example giant pandas, are reluctant to breed in captivity. Cloning would be an alternative way of creating new individuals.  Cloning could be used to increase the genetic diversity of a group of animals, particularly when the group includes some individuals who are not breeding and passing on their genes.         Can produce livestocks with ideal characteristics 2018/11/22

9 Cloning drawbacks If a population of organisms has the same genetic information, then the disease would wipe out the entire population The technique of nuclear transfer is also early in its developmental stages. Thus errors are occurring 2018/11/22

10 Ethical implication One set of ethical concerns clones involves the risks and uncertainties associated with the current state of cloning technology Cloning does not respect the fact that humans have souls .They also consider cloning unnatural ,and say we are taking the work of God into our own hands. There is debate as to the moral rights of clones. Some say their rights will be defied because clones are not granted the birth of newness. 2018/11/22
