Even the people who make the laws have to obey them. Constitutions, statements of rights, or other laws set limits on how much power government officials have so they cannot take advantage of the people.

Government of the people, for the people. People have a say in what laws are created. The people vote for representatives to represent them in government.

Has King/Queen and a Parliament. King/Queen do not make laws or tell people what they can or can’t do. Prime Minister and Parliament run the government.

One person has all the power in the government and dictates what people can and can’t do.

Kings & Queens have all the power and tell people what they can and can’t do.

Voters elect representatives to a lawmaking body called Parliament. These representatives then choose an official called the PRIME MINISTER to head the government. A Governor-General carries out most of the government’s ceremonial duties.
